Getting A Tattoo

The first thing you should do when you’ve made the decision to get a Tattoo is to have your design ready when you enter the studio. More often than not, the people who regret getting a tattoo are those who pick a design at the very last minute. But if you know the design you want to use and it has special meaning to you, it is more likely that you’ll be happy when it has been applied to your body.

Next, you will want to eat something before you go in for your tattoo. It might sound like matronly advice, but if you don’t eat enough and you’re nervous because it’s your first tattoo, there is a much greater chance that you might faint. That is why most tattoo parlours tell their clients’ to have a full meal before their appointments.

Also, and this seems obvious, but you should make sure that you wear appropriate clothes. If you are getting a tattoo on your chest, don’t come to the shop directly from work, dressed in a three-piece suit. Most of the time, baggy clothes are best because they will allow you to roll up your sleeves or remove clothing easily, if necessary.

Lastly, you will want to bring some form of photo identification, such as a passport or a driving licence. Remember that you have to be eighteen years old to get a tattoo in the UK. If you are underage, please don’t consider going to a seedy chop shop. You will be sorry. Any studio that would do work on a minor will likely cut corners in other areas as well, such as hygiene. That is why it is always best to simply wait until you are of age.
